Nancy G. Barrón

Nancy G. Barrón served as the Director of the Interdisciplinary Writing Program and is a Professor of Rhetoric, Writing, and Digital Media Studies at Northern Arizona University. She teaches courses in the rhetoric and climate change content, media design, history of rhetoric, science writing, and professional writing. Professor Barrón participates as a faculty adviser for English undergraduate students with attention to career planning. She has held various student support administrator roles such as faculty adviser for Sigma Tau Delta (student honor society), faculty adviser for the Language Lair (Learning Community), mentor for new faculty, and she has provided numerous workshops, and individual consultations on integrating research, writing, media, and presentation skills across the disciplines. Dr. Barrón’s work on her position as a Latina faculty member, and her work on confronting identity issues experienced by non-mainstream students (particularly Latine students) in higher education can be found in journals such as College Composition and Communication, The Writing Center Journal, Literacy in Composition Studies, Across the Disciplines, The Journal of Literacy and Technology, Computers and Composition, The International Journal of Technology, Knowledge and Society, Environmental Humanities, The International Journal of Diversity in Organisations, Communities and Nations, and International Journal of Educational Management.
