Na Young Jung
is an accomplished academic and researcher specializing in retail technology, consumer behavior, and data analytics. As an Assistant Professor in the Department of Textiles, Merchandising, and Fashion Design at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, her work explores the intersection of advanced digital tools and the evolving retail landscape. With a robust interdisciplinary approach, she investigates areas such as smart retail technologies, self-service systems, and inclusive retail innovations that reshape consumer experiences and operational efficiencies. With over 20 years of professional experience in the fashion and retail industry, Dr. Jung has worked with global brands, gaining expertise in merchandising, retailing, production, and sourcing. Her academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia, specializing in international merchandising, and a master’s degree in data science, underscoring her interdisciplinary approach to research and education. Her extensive research includes over 864 citations in esteemed SSCI and Scopus-indexed journals, emphasizing service quality, recovery, and retail technology. Currently, Dr. Jung's research emphasizes Smart Self-Service Retail Technology (SSRT) and its implications for consumer behavior. Inspired by the evolving challenges of the fashion retail industry, she aims to advance strategies that address changing consumer demands and drive innovation.
