N. Sharmila Banu
N. Sharmila Banu
is an accomplished academician with 14 years of experience in teaching and research in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. She holds a Ph.D. from Bharathiar University and has a strong background in Networks, Machine Learning, Cryptography, and Python. She has served as an Assistant Professor at SR University since 2022 and previously taught at Providence College for Women, Coonoor, and Emerald Heights College for Women, Ooty. Her research contributions span multiple domains, including network security, AI-driven medical diagnostics, and machine learning applications. She has published extensively in reputed journals and conferences, with key works focusing on EEG-based seizure detection, retinal image segmentation, and service function chaining in 5G networks. In recognition of her research excellence, she received the International Researcher Award (2020–2021) from the International Institute of Organized Research (I2OR). Passionate about mentoring, she has guided numerous postgraduate and undergraduate students in their academic pursuits. Dr. Sharmila Banu continues to contribute to advancements in AI and network security.
