Modinah Adenike Oladayo Abdul Raheem

Modinah Abdul Raheem
is a renowned scholar in Physical and Environmental Chemistry, currently serving as a Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry at the University of Ilorin. With over two decades of academic and research experience, she has built a distinguished career exploring the intersection of indigenous knowledge systems and modern scientific methodologies. Her research focuses on phytochemicals, atmospheric and indoor pollution, computational modeling, and multitargeted disease mitigation through ecochemical interface studies. She is particularly known for integrating African folklore-derived constituents with advanced techniques such as Density Functional Theory (DFT) and molecular docking, contributing to innovative approaches in public health and environmental sustainability. Prof. Abdul Raheem holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Ilorin, an M.Sc. a Postgraduate Diploma in Education and B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Ibadan. She teaches both undergraduate and postgraduate courses, mentoring students across disciplines including chemistry, biochemistry, pharmacy, and veterinary medicine. Her scholarly work has been published in leading journals such as ACS Omega, Environmental Modeling & Assessment, and Bulletin of the Chemical Society of Ethiopia. She has presented at numerous international conferences and collaborates actively with research institutions across Nigeria. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Chemists of Nigeria (ICCON), Prof. Abdul Raheem is committed to advancing scientific knowledge that is both locally relevant and globally impactful. Her dedication to education, research, and community engagement continues to inspire a new generation of scientists.
