Melissa McDowell
, EdD, MSN, RN, CCRN, is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Nursing at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. She has 30 years of clinical experience in Critical Care and serves as the Undergraduate Clinical Coordinator. She serves on the University Curriculum Committee, Distance Education Council, Faculty Senate, and Quality Enhancement Plan Development Committee. Her research interests include virtual worlds for better patience care through effective communication; redesigning online undergraduate nursing research courses using OER; and enrichment programs utilizing online adaptive quizzing as a resource. She has presented at local, state, and national conferences on distance learning, coaching critical thinking, and strategies to promote student success.
