Melem Linda Fangwi

Melem Linda Fangwi is a s a distinguished special educator and senior lecturer, known for her significant contributions to special education, research, and practice in Cameroon. Her career reflects a dedication to advancing the field of special education, particularly in the areas of inclusion, and neurodevelopmental disabilities, as well as her active involvement in professional and academic development. She was born and raised in Cameroon and pursued her entire academic journey in special education at the University of Buea, where she progressed from undergraduate studies to obtaining her PhD. Her academic background is diverse, with specialisations in neurodevelopmental disabilities, cognition and cognitive disabilities, inclusive education and curriculum studies and teaching. These multidisciplinary interests enabled her to develop a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour and disabilities in different contexts, providing her with a strong foundation for her teaching, research, and applied special education practices. Her expertise as a methodologist is well regarded among her peers, and she is frequently sought after for her knowledge of research design, data collection, and analysis. This methodological acumen has strengthened her ability to conduct robust and impactful research that addresses critical social issues, particularly those relevant to the Cameroonian and African contexts. She also works at the Special Educational diagnostic laboratory at the University of Buea where she uses the quantum magnetic resonant body analyzer and the electro spectrophotometer to determine deficiencies in the various human body systems. She is a member of the UNESCO Chair for Central and West Africa research team, the Centre for Research on Child and Family Development and Education (CRCFDE), Limbe, Association of Special and Inclusive Educators in West and Central Africa (WACAASIE) International Research and Evaluation organization (EVIHDAF) Yaounde, Cameroon Psychological Association, and International Society for the Study of Behavioral Development (ISSBD). She is an excellent public speaker, fluent in English and average in French, confident, open minded and very optimistic.
