Mary B. Vogl

Dr. Mary Vogl is a Professor of French at Colorado State University, where she teaches language, literature, culture, and cinema. She holds a PhD in French from Indiana University with minors in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and African Studies. Her research explores North African and French literatures, the relationship between literature and the arts, and multilingualism. She is the author of Picturing the Maghreb: Photography, Literature and (Re)presentation and is currently working on a book about the literary and cultural discourses surrounding contemporary Moroccan art. Dr. Vogl has been awarded research grants from Fulbright and the American Institute for Maghrebi Studies. Her administrative experience includes co-directing a U.S. Department of Education grant for International Studies and Foreign Languages, directing three humanities seminars at Colorado State, serving as a department chair, and Chief Academic Officer for the Semester at Sea study abroad program.
