Marja A. J. Willems

Marja Willems, since beginning her career 40 years ago, has dedicated herself to continuous personal and professional growth. She earned her master’s degree in professional development and education, further specializing in change management and organizational development at Nyenrode Business University. From primary and secondary vocational education to higher education, as a teacher, manager and educationist, she has successfully established result-oriented, self-organizing teams, building on principles of distributed leadership. Currently, she works at the Dutch School for Educational Management co-leading principal training and customized programs, and holds a lecturer and mentorship role in the Master of Learning and Innovation program at the University of Applied Sciences Marnix Academy. Additionally, she runs her own business specializing in organizational and leadership development, mentoring and coaching, corporate training, and change management. Her approach integrates appreciative inquiry with a systemic perspective, strategically embedding professionals in collaborative, evolving organizational contexts, and she is a staunch advocate for creating professional learning communities.
