Mallika Roy
Mallika Roy
is a PhD Scholar, Research Officer, and Casual Academic at Central Queensland University. She is also working as a Casual Professional at Western Sydney University under “Enhancing Agribusiness and Strategic Policy Dialogue between Australia and India” project. She is an Associate Professor (study leave) at the Department of Economics, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Mallika graduated with Honours (Economics) and Masters’ (Economics) from the University of Chittagong, followed by earning her M. Phil (Economics) from the City University of Hong Kong. She achieved the Prestigious Prime Minister Gold Medal Award Bangladesh for her scholastic academic results. She was also awarded a Hong Kong government-funded scholarship for her M. Phil study and Industry and a CQUniversity-funded Elevate scholarship, International Excellence Award, Top up Scholarship for her PhD Program. She completed an Industry placement with Isaac Regional Council, Australia recently. Her research interests include Agricultural Economics, Supply Chain, Environmental Economics, Economic Development, and Macroeconomics. She has teaching experience of above 14 years. She successfully completed an industry placement with Isaac Regional Council, Australia, in 2025, during which she conducted a study on employee retention factors and submitted a comprehensive research report along with a policy framework. Currently, she is working under three projects at CQU, Australia and one project at Western Sydney University, Australia. After working as a faculty member at Islamia University College for 2 years and 4 months and subsequently at BGC Trust University Bangladesh for about 1 year, she has been serving as a faculty member at the University of Chittagong for over 10 years. While working as a faculty member at the University of Chittagong, she additionally served as an adjunct faculty in multiple universities such as BGC Trust University, Premier University, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP), University of Science and Technology Chittagong (USTC) in Bangladesh. She worked as a research fellow and teaching assistant at the Department of Economics and Finance of the City University of Hong Kong for 2 years. She completed three research projects by UGC Bangladesh in the role of a project director. She published a good number of research papers in national, and international journals and books.
