Magdalena A. Gaete-Sepulveda
Magdalena Gaete
is originally from Chile, and she has lived in Russia for over 18 years. She currently serves as the Head of the Laboratory for Reputation Management in Education at HSE University–Saint Petersburg (2021), where she leads research on social entrepreneurship, university governance, sustainability, reputation, and stakeholder engagement. Since 2023, she has founded and directed the Satellite Laboratory for Social Entrepreneurship with UTM Malaysia. This initiative led to the creation (2025) of the International Consortium of Satellite Laboratories for Social Entrepreneurship and Sustainability (with universities from Russia, Malaysia, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, and Indonesia), an open and collaborative platform of universities working to strengthen social entrepreneurship, service learning, and the social mission of higher education through joint research, curriculum development, and institutional transformation. Since 2014, she has served as the representative of the University of Navarra in Eurasia, a prestigious institution based in Spain. She is also a Fellow Researcher at the University of Navarra’s Centre for University Governance and Reputation, contributing to global studies on higher education leadership and strategy. Throughout her career, she has led and co-developed projects focused on purpose-built student housing, student well-being, career services, alumni relations, internationalization, sustainability, and university communications. She has also mentored numerous student research initiatives and facilitated multi-stakeholder dialogue on the social impact of universities. As a consultant and academic, she is committed to helping universities become more socially responsible and globally connected. She is a member of the European Association of Service-Learning in Higher Education (EASLHE) and the Russian Business Ethics Network.
