Maarten Matheus van Houten
Maarten van Houten
was trained as an interdisciplinary social scientist and obtained Master’s degrees in professional development and in teaching, before completing his research doctorate at the University of Glasgow, in which he focused on professional discretion, learning organizations and the sharing of professional (tacit) knowledge. He has worked in secondary vocational education and higher education as a teacher/lecturer, coordinator, and educationist. His research interests concern knowledge sharing, learning from and collaboration between colleagues, and contexts of social interaction for learning, such as communities and learning organizations, which he applies to social contexts for knowledge sharing in both education and healthcare.
