Lockias Chitanana

Lockias Chitanana is a senior lecturer at Midlands State University (MSU) in Zimbabwe, where he teaches in the Department of Science, Technology, and Design Education. For the past 13 years, he has served as the Chairperson of the Department of Educational Technology and as the Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Teaching and Learning Unit at MSU. With a wealth of experience in teacher education, he specializes in integrating Information Communication Technology (ICT) and instructional technology into the curriculum. Over the course of twenty years, he has taught Educational Technology and ICT curriculum integration at both university and teacher training college levels. Additionally, since 1999, he has collaborated with national and international organizations to develop and facilitate online teacher professional development courses. He has also held positions as an Online Learning Circle coordinator with organizations such as the International Education and Resource Network (iEARN), the Global Teenager Project (GTP), and World Links for Development. His research interests lie in the areas of e-learning, instructional design, and the future of education. He has contributed to the field through the publication of articles and book chapters in internationally accredited journals. Lockias Chitanana holds a PhD in technology education from the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa, with his thesis focusing on the use of Web 2.0 to facilitate collaborative design among undergraduate engineering students, specifically through an Actor-Network Study.
