Lily Zhu-Tam

Lily Zhu-Tam graduated from SUNY College of Optometry and completed her residency program at Salus University in pediatric and binocular vision. Thereafter, she joined the faculty at SUNY College of Optometry as an Assistant Clinical Professor. She was then promoted to Director of the Optometry Residency Program at the Bronx Care Health System. Where she was the co-founder of the Primary Care and Ocular Disease Residency Program for advance clinical training at the hospital and the creator of the on-call program for optometry residents in the hospital’s emergency department. Later she created the first Pediatric Optometry Clinic for Mt. Sinai at Queens General Hospital. She has published clinical articles, lectured at CE classes and was an active research examiner in the Convergence Insufficiency Treatment Trial, a national randomized multi-center trial sponsored by the National Eye Institute. Along with her decade of academic experience, she also has experience working as the medical director of a multi-office private practice. Given her academic and clinical experiences combined with her passion for pediatrics, it has led her to become the founder of Citywide Eye Care.
