Kunal Avishek Gounder
Kunal Gounder
is a young Fijian professional with a diverse educational background and a keen interest in climate change, international affairs, and education. Born in 1999, Kunal completed his Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education, majoring in History and Geography, from Fiji National University in 2020. He further enhanced his expertise with a Postgraduate Diploma in Climate Change from the University of the South Pacific in 2022 and Postgraduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Affairs from USP in 2023. Kunal's professional journey spans various sectors, including education, government, and international organizations. He has worked as a teacher for the Ministry of Education, served as a COVID Safe Ambassador for the Ministry of Commerce, Trade, Tourism and Transport, and contributed as a Junior Consultant for the United Nations Disaster Risk Reduction Office. Currently, Kunal is pursuing a Master's degree in Climate Change Research at Fiji National University while simultaneously working towards a Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Affairs at the University of the South Pacific. His recent internship with the European Union Delegation to Fiji in the Political, Press, and Information Section further demonstrates his commitment to international relations and public diplomacy. Kunal's diverse experiences and ongoing academic pursuits reflect his passion for addressing global challenges, particularly in the areas of climate change, education, and international cooperation.
