Kimberly Wilson

Kim Wilson , PhD, CCC-SLP, is a Professor in the Department of Intervention Services & Leadership in Education at Wichita State University, where she has served since 2010. She holds a Ph.D. in Communication Disorders from Florida State University, an M.A. in Communicative Disorders & Sciences, and a B.A. in Elementary and Early Childhood Education from Wichita State University. Dr. Wilson is a certified speech-language pathologist with clinical and educational licenses in Kansas and Florida. Her academic interests span early childhood education, literacy, phonological processing, and language development. She has held roles as department head and program chair and has contributed extensively to the field through research, service, and leadership. Dr. Wilson’s scholarship has been published in journals such as , , and , and she has contributed to several book chapters and special journal editions. Her research explores the intersection of early language skills, literacy, and educational practices, particularly for preschool and adolescent learners. She remains active in professional service, including serving as president of the Kansas Reading Association, editorial board member, and reviewer for numerous academic journals.
