Kassim Kalinaki
Dr.
Kassim Kalinaki
(Member, IEEE) is a computer science researcher, technologist, and educator with over a decade of experience bridging academic research and industry expertise. He holds a Diploma in Computer Engineering from Kyambogo University, a Diploma in IT, as well as BSc and MSc degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from the Islamic University of Technology, Bangladesh. He earned his PhD in Computer Science from the School of Digital Science, Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD). In addition to his academic qualifications, Dr. Kalinaki has obtained several industry-recognized certifications in cybersecurity and Big Data Analytics, solidifying his reputation as a trusted advisor to organizations striving for digital transformation and resilience. His research areas include: Ecological Informatics, Healthcare Informatics, Data Analytics, Computer Vision, Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), Digital Image Processing, Cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), Remote Sensing, and Educational Technologies. He has authored and co-authored over 60 peer-reviewed articles published by leading publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, IGI Global, Emerald, Wiley, IEEE, and MDPI, advancing state-of-the-art research and innovation. He also serves as a reviewer for numerous international journals, contributing to the quality and integrity of scholarly output in his fields. Since 2014, Dr. Kalinaki has lectured at the Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU), where he served as Head of the Computer Science Department from 2019 to 2022. Passionate about mentorship and knowledge-sharing, he is committed to shaping future-ready talent and fostering technological innovations that contribute to building a secure, intelligent, and sustainable digital world.
