Dr.
Madhukumar K
is an accomplished academician and researcher in the field of Mechanical Engineering, specializing in metal matrix composites (MMCs), advanced materials, surface coatings, additive manufacturing, and thermo-mechanical processing. He earned his Ph.D. from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in 2024, with doctoral research focused on the development and property evaluation of Aluminum Alloy 6082 reinforced with micro-Yttria Stabilized Zirconia particulates, subjected to T6 heat treatment. His work contributes to the development of high-performance composites for structural and marine applications. With over 13 years of academic experience and industry exposure in injection mold design, Dr. Madhukumar has cultivated expertise in stir casting, MMCs, T6 heat treatment, nanocomposite coatings, rapid prototyping, and mold system design. He is proficient in advanced design and simulation tools such as Pro-E with EMX 4.1, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MoldFlow. His research portfolio includes 16 patents, 3 design grants, publications in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals, 11 UGC-CARE-listed articles, 8 book chapters, 2 authored textbooks, and presentations at multiple national and international conferences. His ongoing research interests span lightweight MMCs, AI/ML integration in material process optimization, eco-friendly corrosion-resistant nanocoatings, bio-nanocomposites for biomedical applications, and mold design. Dr. Madhukumar's work aims to bridge academic innovation with industrial application, fostering engineering solutions that are sustainable, future-focused, and technologically advanced.
