José Alfonso Aguilar-Calderón
José Alfonso Aguilar-Calderón
received his B.S. degree in Computer Systems Engineering and M.Sc. degree in Applied Informatics from the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, Mexico, in 2005 and 2007, respectively. He earned his Ph.D. in Applications of Informatics from the Universidad de Alicante, Spain, in 2011. From 2006 to 2007, Dr. Aguilar-Calderón worked as a software developer at Empresaria and DpSoft. Subsequently, he joined the Computer Systems Department at Coppel S.A. de C.V., where he served in the Quality Assurance division from 2007 to 2009. More recently, he held the position of Project Manager at ARA Consultancy between 2018 and 2020. He is currently a full-time Research Professor and the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in Computer Science at the Facultad de Informática Mazatlán, Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa, in Mazatlán, Mexico. He also holds a professional certificate in Design Thinking. Dr. Aguilar-Calderón’s research interests include Software Engineering, Web Engineering, Model-Driven Web Engineering, Smart Cities, Design Thinking. He has received the Best Demo and Poster Award at the 12th International Conference on Web Engineering (ICWE 2012) and the Best Paper Award at the 6th IEEE International Conference on Adaptive Science & Technology (ICAST 2014). He is a Level 1 member of the Mexican National System of Researchers (Sistema Nacional de Investigadores e Investigadoras – SNII, Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación - SECIHTI). He is also a member of the IEEE Computer Society, the Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Group on Software Engineering (ACM SIGSOFT), the Mexican Software Engineering Network (Red Mexicana de Ingeniería de Software – REDMIS), and the Mexican Academy of Computing (Academia Mexicana de Computación – AMEXCOMP).
