Jorge Luis Chacón Velasco
Jorge Luis Chacón Velasco
joined in 1990 the School of Mechanical Engineering at Universidad Industrial de Santander (UIS) as a lecturer. He is a founder of the research group GIEMA in 2003. His previous experience includes a professional work as ME at CODIESEL, CUMMINS API and UTS, 1985-1990. He received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering (2001) from Polithecnical University of Valencia and DEA in Informatics and Automatic Control (1998) from Université Haut Alsace in Mulhouse, France, and his Bachelor in Mechanical and Automotive Engineering from Polithecnical State Belorusian University in Minks, Bielorussia, in 1985. His area of expertise and research directions include Internal Combustion Engines, Energy Conversion Systems, Sustainable Development, Automotive Engineering, Applications of Artificial Intelligence, High Perfomance Computing and Computational Mechanics, with an emphasis in Modelling and Simulation of energy conversion systems, FDI and Automatic Control of Mechanical Systems, Neurofuzzy Systems, Machine Learning and CFD simulations.
