Jorge Castro Ribeiro
Jorge Ribeiro
is an Associate Professor at the University of Aveiro. Integrated Researcher at INET-md. PhD in Music - Ethnomusicology. His research is ethnomusicological and multidisciplinary, focusing on: (i) music as intangible cultural heritage; (ii) the movement of music, musicians, and musical instruments within the Atlantic context of the Portuguese-speaking world in Europe, Africa, and the Americas; (iii) music in the history, society, and culture of Portugal. Other academic interests include Cape Verdean music, migration, postcolonial studies, music and education, jazz, among others. He is also actively involved in public music dissemination, providing commentary and concert mediation with orchestras, conductors, and soloists.
