Jerome L. Rekart
Jerome (“Jerry”) Rekart,
as the first in his family to graduate from college, understands the power of education. In addition to consulting, he is currently a Professor of Psychology in the Department of Liberal Arts and Sciences at the Berklee College of Music. His previous roles include Vice President of Research and Insight for Southern New Hampshire University’s Office of Product and Program Innovation, and he was a tenured Associate Professor of Education and Psychology at Rivier University. He is the author of research that examines learning and memory from multiple perspectives, ranging from the molecular to the applied. His book “The Cognitive Classroom” provides evidence-based strategies to improve teaching, something he also touched upon in his TEDx talk on using mental map-making to enhance learning. He earned his B.S. in Biochemistry from Indiana University, his M.S. and Ph.D. in Psychology from Northwestern University, and did his postdoctoral training at the McGovern Institute for Brain Research at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
