Hloniphile Talent Ndlovu

Hloniphile Ndlovu is a PhD candidate in Anthropology at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN). Her research focuses on ethnomedicine, indigenous knowledge systems, and the intersections of cultural practices with maternal and child health. Her doctoral study explores the use of traditional medicine by mothers in Ntabeni, KwaZulu-Natal, examining both its perceived benefits and challenges. With an academic background spanning undergraduate, honors, and master’s degrees in Anthropology from UKZN, she has been actively involved in university teaching. She has served as a lecturer and tutor for Anthropology, mentoring first-year students. Her dedication to knowledge-sharing extends to community engagement, earning her a certificate of excellence as a community engagement activist at UKZN. Her academic interests include historical anthropology, traditional healing practices, and community-driven research, emphasizing the role of culture in shaping health and social interactions.
