Hewa Majeed Zangana
Hewa Majeed Zangana
is an Assistant Professor at Duhok Polytechnic University (DPU), Iraq, and a current PhD candidate in Information Technology Management. He has over 15 years of academic and administrative experience, serving in key roles such as Acting Dean of the College of Computer and IT at Nawroz University, Head of the Computer Science Department, Director of the Curriculum Division at DPU, and Manager of the Information Unit at DPU’s Research Center. His research expertise spans network systems, cybersecurity, computer vision, intelligent systems, and Information Technology, with a strong focus on integrating classical methods and advanced AI-driven approaches. Dr. Zangana has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conference papers, and more than ten academic books with IGI Global, several indexed in Scopus and Web of Science (Clarivate). His works appear in respected outlets such as IEEE, EAI Endorsed Transactions on AI and Robotics, Sistemasi, BAMJ, and others. In addition to his prolific research output, he actively contributes to the academic community as a reviewer, editorial board member, and scientific committee member. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of EAI Endorsed Transactions on AI and Robotics (Scopus Q2), alongside roles with other international journals and organizations. Dr. Zangana is also an active member of several professional associations, including the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI), International Association of Engineers (IAENG), and the Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA). Fluent in Kurdish, Arabic, and English, Dr. Zangana continues to contribute to advancing knowledge in AI, cybersecurity, and IT management, while mentoring future generations of scholars and practitioners in Iraq and beyond.
