Heather Fronckowiak
Heather Fronckowiak
, LCSW, is an Assistant Professor of Social Work and MSW Field Director at SUNY Plattsburgh. She previously served in the same roles at The College of Saint Rose until its closure in 2024. Fronckowiak earned her Master of Social Work from the University at Albany (2008) and her Bachelor of Science in Social Work from The College of Saint Rose (2007). A licensed clinical social worker in New York State, she brings over 15 years of experience in trauma-informed practice, child advocacy, and social work education. Her research and teaching interests include trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy, field education, and equity in social work. She has developed curriculum and presented statewide on multidisciplinary collaboration, privilege, and community trauma. Fronckowiak is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Council on Social Work Education and serves on the Board of a rural non-profit focused on community wellness.
