Hakem Beitollahi received the B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Tehran in 2002, the M.S. degree from the Sharif University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2005, and the Ph.D. degree from Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium, in 2012. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Soran University, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. Before joining Soran University, he served for seven years as a faculty member and Head of the Hardware and Computer Systems Architecture Division at the School of Computer Engineering, Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST). Throughout his academic career, he has contributed to both teaching and research in several core areas of computer engineering. His research interests span real-time systems, hardware accelerators for deep learning, hardware security and dependable computing—fields closely aligned with his long-standing work on resilient architectures and system reliability.
