Hakan Emekci
Hakan Emekci
received his B.Sc. degree in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Ankara, Turkey, in 2011, his M.Sc. degree from London Business School, and his Ph.D. degree from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey. He is currently a faculty member at TED University, specializing in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Dr. Emekci is the founder of NavigaAI, a company focused on AI-driven solutions. He has published several papers, including a recent work on optimizing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) Efficiency using Large Language Models. He is also the author of Data Mining with R. His research interests include natural language processing, machine learning applications, and information retrieval systems. He is actively involved in educational technology development, including his Robomentör chatbot project, which serves over 5000 users during the university preference period. Dr. Emekci has led impactful projects in collaboration with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the United Nations, where his work has supported AI-driven solutions for social and economic development initiatives. Beyond his academic and professional achievements, Dr. Emekci is dedicated to bridging advanced AI methodologies with practical applications that address real-world challenges, advancing both the technology and its accessibility. He continues to mentor the next generation of data scientists, focusing on ethical AI practices and innovative problem-solving approaches.
