Gour Sundar Mitra Thakur
is an accomplished academic and AI enthusiast with 16 years of teaching and research experience in Computer Science and Engineering. He earned his B.Tech and M.Tech degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, followed by a PhD from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur, India. His doctoral research, titled “Intelligent Systems in Manifold Decision Making,” underscores his expertise in developing advanced computational methodologies for complex problem-solving. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (AIML) at Dr. B. C. Roy Engineering College, Durgapur, Dr. Thakur has contributed extensively to the academic community, publishing 22 research articles in reputed international journals, conferences, and book chapters. He is also an active reviewer for prestigious journals such as Knowledge-Based Systems, Applied Soft Computing, International Journal of Fuzzy Systems, and Frontiers in Oncology. Dr. Thakur’s research interests lie in the application of AI, machine learning (ML), and deep learning (DL) algorithms to address real-world challenges in diverse domains such as biology, agriculture, environmental sustainability, and manufacturing. With expertise in TensorFlow and PyTorch, he has developed cutting-edge ML/DL models and designed robust ML pipelines for solving complex problems. A strong advocate for ethical AI, Dr. Thakur is committed to building systems that are fair, transparent, and unbiased. He excels in interdisciplinary collaboration, leveraging insights from various fields to achieve innovative solutions. His passion for advancing AI technologies drives his continuous pursuit of impactful research and applications.
