Gloria Kramer-Gordon

Gloria Joanne Kramer-Gordon is the TESOL Coordinator and Assistant Professor for the School of Graduate Studies at SUNY Empire State College. She has also been an Adjunct Professor for the Graduate TESOL program at Molloy College. She received her Ed.D. in the School of Education from Northcentral University La Jolla, California. She specializes in culture and diversity, the mental health of immigrant students, multicultural education, second language acquisition, bilingual education, and ENL strategies. She is a licensed educator in New York of Spanish Education grades 7-12 and TESOL K-12. She also holds additional teaching certifications in Bilingual Education grades K-12, Early Childhood Education Birth-2, Middle School Generalist grades 6-9, Elementary Education K-6, and School Building Leader (SBL). She began teaching as a Spanish and ENL teacher for grades K-12. She also taught SIFE students and was the department ENL Chair for elementary schools in her school district. During Covid, she was approached to assist in the start-up of the first dual-language school for the Diocese of Rockville Centre, New York, and serve as Principal. She has presented on best practices to support ELLs in the classroom and forming cohesive relationships between schools and diverse families. Her research and doctoral publication focused on “Encouraging Culturally Competent Mental Health Providers and Educators for Immigrant Students’ Educational Success.”
