Geberew Tulu Mekonnen

Geberew Tulu Mekonnen is a Lecturer at the School of Policing Studies at Charles Sturt University. He holds a PhD in Education from the University of Tasmania (UTAS), with a focus on the impact of the Bologna Process on Ethiopian higher education. Dr Mekonnen is engaged in criminology research, collaborating with colleagues on topics such as youth crime and education, cybercrime, cryptocurrencies, combating misinformation and disinformation, and deepfake technology. His broader academic contributions include publications on student learning and assessment, higher education governance, pedagogy, and leadership, reflecting his significant impact in these fields. Before joining Charles Sturt University, Dr Mekonnen held various roles at the University of Tasmania, including Sessional Academic Staff, Research Assistant, Research Outputs Officer, and Research Funding Officer. He also taught and conducted research at Addis Ababa University (AAU), Ethiopia. During his time at AAU, he served in administrative leadership positions, including Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs, College Managing Director, and Program Coordinator.
