Fenqjen Luo

Fenqjen Luo is an associate professor in the Department of Education and associate director of the Science Math Resource Center at Montana State University. She has expertise and experience in math teacher preparation and gifted education. She has partnered with high-need local education agencies (LEAs) in rural and American Indian school communities through several state and federal projects. Those projects have focused on improving STEM teacher quality and developing their capabilities as STEM teacher leaders through customized professional growth. Luo has engaged talented middle and high school students in mathematical enrichment activities for several years. She founded Montana Math Circle, which was sponsored by the Mathematical Association of America (MAA) and the American Mathematical Society (AMS).
