Emma Bond

Dr Emma Bond is an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Arts, Business and Applied Social Science at University of Suffolk. She has over 10 years teaching experience on social science undergraduate and post-graduate courses and extensive research experience. Emma's specialist teaching and research interested focus on the everyday interactions between people, society and technology. She is especially interested in developing both innovative and accessible methodologies in research which foster participation with marginalised groups. She is internationally renowned for her work on online and social media environments. Her current research interests have a strong focus on qualitative methods, including innovative, creative and virtual methods, and include risk and everyday life; self-identity especially gendered, sexual identities; technology and higher education, and young people’s use of media. Emma recently completed a study on understanding domestic abuse and she is currently working with the Better Policing Collaborative, The College of Policing and HEFC and she is undertaking a review of domestic violence and abuse for 5 police forces in the UK as part of a project with the Police Knowledge Fund.
