Elif Ulker-Demirel
Elif Ulker-Demirel
is a Visiting Professor in Hospitality and Tourism Management at the Isenberg School of Management, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA. She is also affiliated as an Associate Professor of Marketing in the Department of Tourism Management at Trakya University in Türkiye. Her research focuses on consumer behavior in various contexts, including consumer activism, anti-consumption, boycotts, social density, and the behavioral effects of uncertainty and crowding. Her current project, supported by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye (TÜBİTAK) 2219 Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, explores the relationship between perceived social density, quality of life, and place attachment in urban and overcrowded destinations exposed to high levels of crowding and overtourism.
