Ela Luria
Ela Luria
is a researcher and educator with a passion for innovation in education. Her research focuses on a range of topics, including religious education, Holocaust education, cross-cultural psychology, and second language learning with an emphasis on utilizing innovative learning technologies and pedagogies. Luria holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Bar Ilan University, where she completed her dissertation on “The Education of Children of Religious-Secular Mixed Couples,” examining the relative contribution of different value systems in the education of these children, her mentor Prof Yaacov Katz. In her pursuit of furthering innovative education, Luria is currently conducting post-doctoral research at Bar Ilan University on ” Holocaust Education in the digital Future: Preserving the Memories of the Past for Future Generations” and ” Breaking the Silence and Embracing the Pain: The Memory of Difficult Knowledge from a Neurocinematic Perspective “. She has also founded a multidisciplinary research team on Brain Research and Education – Neuro-Pedagogy, which explores the intersection of neuroscience and pedagogy in improving learning outcomes. Luria has further conducted research on the use of technology in language learning, specifically exploring the use of Alexa as a motivational tool in English language learning among EFL (English as a Foreign Language) students in Israel. Her findings highlight the potential of technology, such as voice-activated assistants, to enhance student motivation and engagement in language learning, and suggest potential implications for language teaching and learning in the digital age. Dr, Luria’s research has been published in various academic journals, and she has presented her findings at international conferences. Ela is an experienced lecturer, educator and mentor in both English and Education.
