Demamu Tagele Haligamo
Demamu Tagele Haligamo
is a Senior Environmental, WASH, and Public Health Expert with over 7 years of experience in various roles, including officer, supervisor, coordinator, manager, lecturer, researcher, and consultant. He studied BSc and MPH in environmental health, and currently a PhD scholar at Arba Minch University. He specializes in climate change mitigation, sustainable resource management, environmental engineering, and environmental health, with a proven track record in environmental investigations, waste management, and human rights advocacy. Demamu has successfully contributed to numerous impactful projects aimed at improving environmental quality and public health, with a particular focus on water management, wastewater treatment, solid waste management, and climate resilience. His expertise extends to biogas technology, climate-resilient WASH policies, and environmental and social impact assessments. Holding a Master’s in Environmental Health from Hawassa University, Demamu has demonstrated proficiency in advanced data analysis using tools such as SPSS, STATA, and ArcGIS, applying these skills to environmental assessments and the monitoring and evaluation of large-scale projects. Currently serving as Program Officer, Demamu leads projects aimed at promoting green business solutions and youth-driven climate action. His expertise in project management and technical proposal development helps drive sustainable development and climate change mitigation efforts. Additionally, Demamu has collaborated with various organizations, including WaterAid Ethiopia and the Ethiopia Investment Commission, providing key insights and contributing to policy briefs and feasibility studies. His leadership in environmental health and climate resilience continues to foster impactful community engagement and drive significant environmental changes. Committed to continuous professional development, Demamu actively advocates for sustainable development, public health, and environmental justice, working toward a cleaner, safer, and more resilient future for communities.
