Chikesh Ranjan
Chikesh Ranjan
is currently serving as a Project Engineer for Project SwaYaan – Capacity Building in Drone/UAS at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, NIT Rourkela, India. He holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India, where he also completed his Master of Engineering (M.E.) in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in the Design of Mechanical Equipment. Additionally, he earned a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Marathwara Institute of Technology, Aurangabad, Maharashtra, India, graduating with First Class with Distinction. Chikesh Ranjan has made significant contributions to the field of mechanical engineering through his research, having published 17 journal papers, authored 12 books, and written 16 book chapters. He has been actively involved in organizing 10 workshops and coordinating 13 events, in addition to participating in 31 training programs and attending 34 national and international workshops, seminars, and webinars. His innovative work has been recognized with 13 design patents and 8 foreign patents, underscoring his commitment to advancing mechanical design and technology. With 9 years of teaching and research experience, Chikesh has built a global reputation in his areas of interest, which include composites, non-conventional machining, CAD/CAM, 3D printing, robotics and drone technology. He is a proud member of the Institution of Engineers, India, and has received 7 prestigious awards and honors for his outstanding contributions to the field of Mechanical Engineering.
