Caterina Villani

Caterina Villani (Ph.D.) is a distinguished postdoctoral fellow at the School of Design, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, and a qualified architect. Her work lies at the intersection of urban policy research, spatial planning, and sharing practices, aiming to combine multi-disciplinary approaches to envision more inclusive urban forms and processes. Caterina’s research investigates the production of public space, spatial justice, and migrant urbanism, primarily focusing on Asian global cities. Caterina’s doctoral research was supported by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council and received international awards. She holds a Bachelor’s and Master of Architecture from Iuav University of Venice. Recent studies were published in Landscape Research, the Journal of Urban Design, Transport Policy, and Cities.
