Carolina Lorenzo Álvarez
Carolina Lorenzo-Álvarez
is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology II at the University of Alicante (UA) and a Research Technician for the MEEBAI project (Emotion-Aware Education Based on Artificial Intelligence) at the Institute of Computing Research, UA. Ph.D. in Communication from the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts at the University of Alicante (Cum Laude) and a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from the same university. Her scholarly contributions include multiple articles and book chapters published in high-impact journals and publishers, focusing on educational research, politican and social comunication, and gender and social inequalities studies. She has colaborated with various public and private institutions, including the University of Alicante, the Mediterranean Institute of Protocol Studies (affiliated with UMH), and the Cardenal Herrera CEU University in Elche. For over 20 years, she has conducted social and commercial studies for diverse public and private entities. Notably, she participated in an international mission as an auxiliary consultant for UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) to support Guatemala's National Institute of Statistics on gender and indigenous populations.
