Ayça Tokuç
Ayça Tokuç
is an architect, lecturer, and researcher. She got her bachelor's degree in the Architecture Department at Middle East Technical University in 2001, and her MSc. & PhD. degrees at Dokuz Eylül University. She works as a professor of architecture at Dokuz Eylül University. She has been involved in several collaborative projects to enhance the city's built environment and health, including the project for this chapter. Her research examines sustainable design as both a concept and implementation on various scales, including indoor, building and community scales. Her area of expertise is building science, especially energy and sustainability issues in the built environment. Her areas of interest include low-energy architecture, renewable energy, energy efficiency, building energy simulation, thermal energy storage, carbon in the built environment, biodesign, regenerative design, innovative design and indoor air quality.
