Athanasios T. Alexiou
Dr. Athanasios Alexiou is the Head of Research & Education at Funogen Research Company in Greece and AFNP Med Company in Austria, an Adjunct Professor at the University Centre for Research & Development at Chandigarh University in India, and the Department of Science and Engineering at the Novel Global Community Education Foundation (an educational platform registered in Australia). He also collaborates with international research teams (including Yerevan State University, King Abdulaziz University, the University of Sharjah and Damanhour University). His research area is Computational Biomedicine. He also focuses on developing novel mathematical models and algorithms in neurodegenerative diseases, prognostic Bayesian tools for Neurodegenerative disorders, and the ethical implications of scientific research. He serves as an Associate Editor in highly reputed journals like the Frontiers in Genetics, and Pharmacology in the Section of ELSI, the Frontiers in Neuroscience and Psychology Journals, as a Section Editor in the Current Alzheimer Research Bentham Science journal, Associate Editor in the Infectious Medicine Elsevier Journal, Guest Editor in the Biomedicines journal and in the Oxidative Medicine and Cellular Longevity Hindawi Journal etc.; he is the author of more than 250 peer-reviewed articles/chapters/books in high impact publications and 5 filled patents; he is the editor of several books in known publishing houses (Springer); he has delivered many talks and presentations in international conferences and workshops; he participates in several international funded programs; he serves as a Scientific and Program Committee Member in several conferences and as a Reviewer/Member of the Editorial Board of international journals; he is supervising from diploma to Ph.D. theses and internships' programs; he has over 20 years of mentoring and educational experience. Dr. Alexiou is a Fellow of the Institute of Biomedical Science.
