Ana K. Soltero López
Ana K. Soltero López
is an Education instructor at Fresno City College in the Central Valley of California. She has been a teacher educator for nine years and espouses an educator philosophy that is firmly grounded in equity-centered, student-centered, asset-based, social justice, anti-racist, and anti-deficit perspectives and application. Her courses centralize culturally and linguistically sustaining pedagogies, critical teacher inquiry and reflexivity, and community-building and empowerment. Her general research focus is K-20 BIPOC educational access, retention, and persistence. Her research agenda is informed by her teaching and work with youth, educators, and BIPOC communities and lies at the intersection of disciplines such as Education, Ethnic Studies, Sociology, and Immigration Studies.
