Amanda M. Baranski

Amanda Baranski has over 15 years of experience in clinical social work. She is currently teaching, mentoring, and supporting the next generation of social workers at Metropolitan State University of Denver, she has been a Lecturer since 2018. She has extensive knowledge and skills in providing recovery-oriented services to diverse populations with complex needs, such as acquired brain injury, mental illness, and substance use disorders. One of her areas of specialization is ambiguous grief and loss, which is the experience of losing someone who is still alive but has changed significantly due to illness, injury, or addiction. She has published a workbook on this topic, conducted research, and presented at national and international conferences. She has experience in hospital social work, mediation, and consultation services, which have enhanced her ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, foster positive relationships, and deliver quality care. Dr. Baranski currently serves as the chair of the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion committee with NASW-CO.
