Aishwarya Katyal

Aishwarya Katyal is a research scholar, human rights activist and academician. She completed her BA English (Hons.) followed by MA in English from the University of Delhi and is currently a pursuing PhD in English at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Shri Venkateshwara University, India. Her research and interest include gender, feminism, queer theory, comics and graphic novels. She has two edited books to her credit and has the copyright 'Gender Wheel- A Way to Strategize Gender Equality' registered in her name with the Government of India. She has served as an Academic Counselor at the School of Humanities (English), Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), where she mentored students of masters and undergraduate level. She is an appointed subject expert at CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education), India, for reviewing educational content and also serves as the Social Outreach Director, Psalm Educational Trust and UNHAD Foundation; both committed to uplifting underprivileged people, children and women. For her efforts in gender sensitization, Bharat Ratna Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan International Award of Honour, 2022, was recently conferred upon her. She has also volunteered in an international NGO -Successworld1 Academy, founded by HRH Queen Nadia Harihiri, Queen of Hawai'i (also Ambassador at Large, International Human Rights Commission), with a vision to guarantee an inclusive, equitable and quality education to all. She was felicitated with the International Award for Educational Excellence for her contribution to high-impact projects established by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
