Abtar Darshan Singh
Abtar Darshan Singh
is a renowned academic with over 30 years of experience in digital learning, instructional design, pedagogy and curriculum development. She has held key academic positions, including Dean and Professor at institutions like Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University, University Malaya, and Open University Malaysia. An alumna of Syracuse and Indiana University, she currently leads the Digital Learning Hub at APU and holds a UNESCO Chair focused on using innovative technologies for quality teaching and learning. A prolific author, her research addresses the challenges of globalization and technology in education with a recent focus on AI. Prof. Singh advises governmental and non-governmental bodies on digital learning strategies and collaborates with international organizations such as the World Bank, UNESCO, UNDP, and the Commonwealth of Learning. She also supports Special Education Needs initiatives and contributes to community development through organizations like Kiwanis Malaysia and the Malaysian Association of Yoga Instructors.
