INTERNATIONAL WORLDWIDE REPRESENTATIVES

Role

The role of a World Representative is as follows:

• Is a current, paid member of IRMA.
• Is an official representative of IRMA who, in their professional endeavors and when appropriate, agrees to make available materials and information in order to increase IRMA's international membership, presence, and stature.
• Submits an annual report which documents the representative's efforts during the past year.
• Promotes IRMA Official journals, encouraging colleagues to submit quality manuscripts to one or more of the following journals:

• Uses IRMA materials that are accessible through the web and can be downloaded and/or printed. The IRMA staff will also send sample copies of journals, the Information Management newsletter, and call for participation flyers.
• Is encouraged to create a local web presence and link with the Worldwide Representatives home page that will promote IRMA specifically and the dissemination of knowledge in general. In this manner, any browser may learn about various IS/IT concerns in the region/country in which they are interested.
  • Minimally, having e-mail access. May take on various forms depending on availability of resources, time, skills, etc.:
    • Home page
    • Link institutions' web page which then leads to individual representative
    • Link via e-mail address
  • Contents
    • Link to http://www.irma-international.org/worldReps/index.asp
    • Include IRMA's aims and objectives
    • May include regional/country information that would be informative to browsers such as:
      • Local/regional professional associations and meetings
      • Local/regional institutions with associated faculty
• Listing on the IRMA web page, IRMA Worldwide Representatives web page, in the Information Management newsletter, promotional and future material.
• Is encouraged to contribute to the feature column "International IRM Issues" in Information Management.
