INTERNATIONAL WORLDWIDE REPRESENTATIVES

General Objectives

The objectives for the World Representatives are as follows:

1. To expand the international presence of IRMA
  • Through promotion of membership growth
  • Through submissions to IRMA Official journals
     
2. To create a global network that links researchers, instructors and friends
  • Through web pages by regions and countries linked to IRMA's International Relations home page (which links to IRMA's home page)
  • By subscribing to IRMA-L listserve
  • Announcements of upcoming events to the larger IS community
     
3. To play an active role in the development of IRMA internationally
  • Through IRMA Official journals and research
  • Submit manuscripts or cases and encourage the submission of papers by colleagues
  • Collaborative internationally-based research
     

In particular, duties of an IRMA World Representatives (WR) include:

  • Being a current member of IRMA for at least one year
  • Each WR should run his/her web page.
    • A link to IRMA should be located on that page.
    • It is recommended to display IRMA logo as well.
  • Each WR should establish and keep updated list of major institutions offering Computer Science/Information Systems training and research within the region they are covering.
    • The list should contain contact details of at least one person per institution who may be interested in the IRMA activities.
    • The list of each IRMA will be revised during the annual WRs' meeting.
    • Each WR should use the list to distribute materials relevant to IRMA activities, especially IRMA publications.
  • Each WR should strongly promote IRMA and IRMA's activities within his./her immediate sphere of activities. This may include (but not limited to):
    • Sending e-mail to his/her colleagues about forthcoming IRMA events
    • Distributing "Call for Papers" for various IRMA journals
    • Encouraging libraries to subscribe to IRMA publications (journals and books)
