Author's/Editor's Biography

Dmitry Korzun
Dmitry Korzun received his B.Sc. (1997) and M.Sc (1999) degrees in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the Petrozavodsk State University (PetrSU, Russia). He received a Ph.D. degree in Physics and Mathematics from the St.-Petersburg State University (Russia) in 2002. He is an Associate Professor at Department of Computer Science of PetrSU (since 2003 and ongoing). He was Visiting Research Scientist at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology HIIT, Aalto University, Finland (2005-2014). In 2014-2016 he performed the duties of Vice-dean for Research at Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology of PetrSU. Since 2014 he has acted as Leading Research Scientist at PetrSU, originating research and development activity within fundamental and applied research projects on emerging topics in ubiquitous computing, smart spaces, and Internet technology. Dmitry Korzun serves on technical program committees and editorial boards of a number of international conferences and journals. His research interests include modeling and evaluation of distributed systems, mathematical modeling and concept engineering of cyber-physical systems, ubiquitous computing and smart spaces, Internet of Things and its applications, software engineering and programming methods, algorithm design and complexity, linear Diophantine analysis and its applications, theory of formal languages and parsing. His educational activity started in 1997 at the Faculty of Mathematics of PetrSU (now Institute of Mathematics and Information Technology). Since that time he has taught more than 20 study courses on hot topics in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Information and Communication Technology, and Software Engineering. He is an author and co-author of more than 150 research and educational publications.

Alexey Kashevnik
Senior researcher at St.Petersburg Institute for Informatics and Automation of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SPIIRAS), St.Petersburg, 14 line, 39. PhD. In 2005 he has graduated from St.Petersburg state polytechnic university. Author more than 150 research papers. Research interests: knowledge management, cloud computing, human-computer interaction, robotics, user profiling, ontologies, smart spaces.

Sergey Balandin
Sergey Balandin received M.Sc. degrees in Computer Science from Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI” (Russia) and in Telecommunications from Lappeenranta University of Technology (Finland). His Ph.D. in Telecommunications and Control Theory was awarded in 2003by PhD school of Nokia Research Center and Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University “LETI”. He also received M.Sc. in Business Administration (MBA) from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (2012). From 1999 till 2011 Sergey worked in Nokia Research Center. His last position was Principal Scientist of Ubiquities Architectures team, Nokia’s Academy cooperation manager for Russia and CIS and acting Technical Director of Nokia Siemens Networks in Russia. For three years he was Nokia representative in MIPI standardization Alliance, UniPro working group. Sergey Balandin is a serial entrepreneur in the innovative information technology sector. He is Adjunct Professor at the Department of Communications Engineering of Tampere University of Technology. He holds a number of positions of trust including General Chair position of Open Innovations Association FRUCT. He is IARIA Fellow (since 2011). Sergey Balandin is Editor-in-Chief of International Journal of Embedded and Real-Time Communication Systems (IJERTCS). Sergey holds position of invited Professor of ITMO University. He is an official expert of Skolkovo Foundation and EURIPIDES2 program (ID 112). Sergey Balandin is an author of 29 patents and over 100 papers. He edited several proceedings and books published by LNCS, IEEE, and IGI. His research interests include Smart Spaces, Internet of Things, Embedded Networks and Smart Systems, and design of digital services.
