Vassilki Pliogou

Dr. Vasiliki Pliogou is an Associate Professor of Pedagogy and Educational Applications at the Department of Early Childhood Education, University of Western Macedonia. She directs the Laboratory of Pedagogical Studies and Innovative Educational Practices and serves as the Departmental Erasmus Coordinator and Internship Supervisor. Dr. Pliogou represents her department in the Children’s Identity & Citizenship European Association (CiCEA) and the European Network for Democracy and Human Rights Education. Her research and over 140 publications focus on human rights education, children’s rights, citizenship, gender, family–school collaboration, and the use of diverse pedagogical tools in both formal and non-formal educational settings. She was awarded the 2016 OMEP International Prize for Education for Sustainable Development under UNESCO’s Global Action Programme at Ewha Womans University, Seoul, South Korea.
