Sunandan Baruah
Sunandan Baruah
is currently the Director, Research and Innovation at Assam down town University, Guwahati. He also holds additional responsibilities of Director, Centre of Excellence in Nanotechnology and Director, Technology, Innovation, Transfer and Entrepreneurship Centre and President of the Institution’s Innovation Council. He is also the CEO of Globinno Engineering Solutions, Guwahati. He is a social entrepreneur and his company uses Nanotechnology based solutions to solve societal problems. Previously, he was the Director, Center of Excellence in Nanotechnology at Assam Don Bosco University. He also worked as a Research Faculty at the Angstrom Laboratoriet, Uppsala University, Sweden and as a Research Specialist at the Asian Institute of Technology, Thailand. Prof. Baruah’s research interest is in Environmental Nanotechnology. He has 112 publications in international peer reviewed journals and conference proceedings and 13 book chapters. Prof. Baruah has innovated many nanotechnology-based systems and has published 11 patents. Prof. Baruah is also a Consultant to the Ministry of MSME and is involved in upgradation of traditional industries of India through inclusion of modern technology. He is also a mentor to the budding entrepreneurs of the North East through the OctaNE program of Software Technology Parks of India. He is a Rotarian from Rotary Club of Guwahati.
