Stelios Marneros
Stelios Marneros
is a Lecturer in Hotel Management at the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management. He holds a PhD from Middlesex University in the development of competencies in hospitality management (Pedagogical Practices of Hospitality Management), an MSc in Hotel and Catering Management from Manchester Metropolitan University, and a BSc in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism Administration from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. Stelios taught as a faculty member at the European University Cyprus and served as the program coordinator in hospitality and tourism management program. He worked in the hotel and catering industry (Amathus Hotel Paphos, Pizza Hut, Anassa Hotel, Atlantica Hotels and Resorts) for several years before pursuing an academic career. His research interests focus on hotel industry education, hospitality management competencies, hospitality management programs, entrepreneurship, wine tourism, and gastronomy. His research papers have been published in academic journals such as Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport & Tourism Education, Journal of Teaching in Travel and Tourism and Higher Education, Skills and Work-Based Learning.
