Soyeon Ahn

Dr. Soyeon Ahn is a professor in the Department of Educational and Psychological Studies at the University of Miami (UM)'s School of Education and Human Development (SEHD). She currently serves as the interim associate dean for the UM Graduate School, vice dean, and associate dean for research at SEHD. In these leadership roles, Dr. Ahn has worked on university-wide initiatives to support graduate students, enhance interdisciplinary research collaboration, and promote academic and professional development opportunities. With an extensive background in educational research, statistics, computational modeling, measurement, and evaluation, Dr. Ahn directs the Research, Measurement, and Evaluation (RME) Ph.D. program. As a methodological expert, she has successfully trained and mentored doctoral students in advanced research methodologies, including meta-analysis, structural equation modeling, mixed-effects modeling, and interdisciplinary statistical modeling. Her research has had a significant impact, as evidenced by a Scopus h-index of 27, Google Scholar h-index of 34 and an i10-index of 52, with numerous publications in high-impact journals. Dr. Ahn has led various strategic initiatives, including the development of the Responsible Educational Data Analytics Hub (REAHub), which emphasizes ethical and socially responsible data analytics in education. She has also developed graduate and undergraduate programs in data analytics, including the BS in Data Analytics and Intelligence for Social Impact and the MS in Data Analytics and Program Evaluation. Through these initiatives, she has worked to bridge research, education, and policy, ensuring that data-driven decision-making is both ethical and impactful. As a leader in interdisciplinary research and team science, Dr. Ahn has participated in and evaluated interdisciplinary research teams, including the UM Laboratory for INtegrative Knowledge (U-LINK) initiative, where she contributed to fostering cross-disciplinary collaborations that address complex societal challenges. Beyond her administrative and research roles, Dr. Ahn is an active contributor to the academic community. She serves as consulting editor on quantitative methods for the International Journal of Intercultural Relations, section editor for Measurement in Physical Education and Exercise Science, and editorial board member for the Journal of Asian American Psychology. Through her strategic leadership, research excellence, and dedication to mentorship, Dr. Ahn continues to advance interdisciplinary research, methodological innovation, and graduate education, ensuring that students and faculty are equipped to drive meaningful change in education and research at local, national, and global levels.
